Field Trip - Children's Museum of Atlanta

In September on a visit to Atlanta to see family, we got to go to the Children's Museum of Atlanta. The kids had such a great time playing in all the exhibits. I highly recommend going if you're ever in the area. First we went to Fundamentally Food to see how food gets from the farm to the table.
Joshua milking the cow
Brooke in the orchard
Joshua and Ella riding the tractor

Then the kids enjoyed playing in the molding sand table.

Little artist

Plenty of train tables

They enjoyed fishing in the Leaping into Learning exhibit.
We learned about conserving energy.

Ella liked spinning the handle fast to make the light shine

In the Tools for Solutions exhibit, the kids used the six simple machines to move the balls around.

San Diego Beach, Zoo, and SeaWorld Field Trips

This past Labor Day weekend, we decided to take a trip to San Diego to go to the beach, the world-famous zoo, and SeaWorld. It was such a fun learning experience for the whole family. I found some great car activities to keep the kids entertained during the long car ride on MomsMinivan.com. I put a plastic bin between Joshua and Ella's seats with every item I could think of that they might need (wet wipes, kleenex, activity books, crayons, car bingo games and licence plate check-off lists attached to clipboards, and plastic baggies-just in case of yucky tummies). And in case none of that worked, we had the ultimate long car ride entertainer, the portable DVD player. Whenever someone still got fussy, I just threw snacks at them and they'd usually cheer up :)
I decided to give the kids something interactive to do while we were at the zoo. So I made a zoo checklist showing pictures of the animals I thought we would see. Recommendation: Find out what animals are actually at the zoo you'll be visiting when creating one. There were a few pictures on the checklist that we had to change at the zoo so the kids could check off all their boxes.

Here are some fun pictures of our adventures at the beach, Zoo, and SeaWorld in San Diego.
